HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

We’re sharing information about the planning process through this website, email updates, postcard mailers, media, and community drop-in sessions.

You can learn more by:

  • Reading updates and background information on this website
  • Attending a community drop-in session
  • Watching for email, mail, and media updates

We’ll share information about parks, facilities, programs, and the planning process, including existing parks and facilities, community needs and trends, and opportunities for improvement.

Later this summer, we’ll invite the community to participate in a survey to help shape the Comprehensive Plan draft. Before the survey opens, we’ll continue sharing information about parks, facilities, programs, and community needs so you have the information needed to provide informed input.

When the survey is available, you can participate by:

  • Completing the online survey linked on this website
  • Signing up for email updates to receive the survey directly in your inbox
  • Picking up and completing a hard copy survey at the Parks Office

Your feedback will help identify priorities, needs, and opportunities and will directly inform the draft Comprehensive Plan.

During this phase, staff and the project team will use community feedback from the survey and other outreach activities to prepare a draft Comprehensive Plan.

The draft plan will identify priorities, future needs, and potential improvements and investments for parks, facilities, programs, and services.

The draft will reflect:

  • Community priorities and feedback
  • Identified needs and opportunities
  • Potential improvements and future investments

Once the draft Comprehensive Plan is prepared, we’ll share it with the community for review and comment.

The draft plan will be available:

  • On this website
  • By email for those signed up for project updates
  • At an in-person community review opportunity

During this phase, community members will have the opportunity to review the draft plan, provide feedback, and help refine the final recommendations before the plan is finalized.

Following the community review period, the Comprehensive Plan will be finalized and presented for adoption as part of the comprehensive planning process.

The final plan will reflect community input gathered throughout the process, and we’ll share how public feedback helped shape the plan’s recommendations and priorities.

The adopted plan will guide future decision-making, investments, and improvements for parks, facilities, programs, and services over the coming years.
