What Will I Learn at a Drop-In Session?

The drop-in sessions are an opportunity to learn more about Eastmont Metropolitan Parks District (EMPD), the Comprehensive Plan process, and how community members will be able to participate throughout the project.

Learn About EMPD

At the session, you’ll be able to learn more about:

  • Who EMPD is and the communities we serve
  • Parks, facilities, programs, and services provided by the District
  • How the District operates and is funded
  • Current parks and recreation assets and services
  • Existing needs, challenges, and opportunities

Learn About Comprehensive Planning

We’ll also share information about:

  • What a Comprehensive Plan is and how it is used
  • Why EMPD is updating its Comprehensive Plan
  • What has been accomplished since the last plan
  • How the plan will help guide future investments and priorities
  • How projects and recommendations may be identified and adopted through the planning process

Learn How to Participate & Share Input

The drop-in sessions are also a chance to learn how you can stay involved throughout the process, including:

  • How and when to participate in the upcoming community survey
  • Where project information and updates will be shared
  • How to sign up for project email updates and notifications

Can’t Make It to a Drop-In Session?

No problem. If you’re signed up for our project email distribution list, we’ll make sure you still have access to the information shared during the drop-in sessions.

Materials and information presented at the sessions will also be posted here on the project website, and we’ll send email updates when new information is available.

This will help community members stay informed and prepared to participate in the upcoming community survey later this summer, even if they’re unable to attend a session in person.
