Steering Committee

What is the Steering Committee?

The EMPD Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee is a small group of community representatives who help inform the planning process. The committee provides a forum for discussion, feedback, and community perspectives as the plan is developed.

The committee helps ensure that a range of viewpoints are considered throughout the process and serves as a connection between the project team, Eastmont Metro Parks District, and the broader community.

What is the Steering Committee's role?

The Steering Committee serves in an advisory capacity and does not make formal decisions about the Comprehensive Plan. Members help the project team understand community needs, priorities, opportunities, and concerns while providing feedback at key milestones throughout the planning process.

Committee members review project information and draft materials, explore ideas and options, identify issues early, and help share information with their organizations and networks. Members are not expected to reach consensus; instead, the committee provides a space for constructive discussion and a range of perspectives to help inform the plan.
